As an update - have a butchers at this fabulous bag that Patricia made out of a previous piece of felt made at the windmill. And watch this space for Patricia's completed flute case after another days felting this Saturday coming in Ilkeston.

The day at Greens Mill was unfortunately postponed but Patricia and I had a wonderful days felting instead here in Shipley. Patricia designed and created a 3Dpiece making an amazing case for her Native American flute and I made a bag to put Gogo's in, for a birthday present. we enjoyed a great day and the pieces felting really well - our energy levels must have been really topped up!

New date for the diary

I will be at Greens Mill for the last time this year on Saturday the 7th November for the whole day. The workshop has 2 themes as we are making the most of the long session : either 3D , making formshing with form like a bowl, bag, teacosy or slippers. or Christmas preparations, we will have enough time to make a wallhangings, table runners, advent pockets with a Christmas theme or to give as gifts. Price £25 for the workshop including all materials and a light lunch.

Another beautiful day at Greens Mill, this time with sunshine. Very peaceful and beautiful there at this time of year. Some more beautiful pieces were created today, influenced by nature and the colours of autumn.

Pat's Beautiful Fushia

Felting at Greens Mill, Sneinton, Nottingham

On a traditional wet summers day, we enjoyed a lovely mornings felting at the picturesque Greens Windmill in Sneinton. A gorgeous venue for felting and I hope the first of many workshops there, as it has to be one of my most favourite places in Nottingham. We took our inspiration that day from Mother Nature herself and produced the most beautiful wall-hangings containing images of tomato laden vines, fields of pumpkins, fushias, ferns and pansies (not to mention Esme's lovely design of a more graphical nature)

Felt Making

Just wanted to share experiences of making felt with other felters or those who are curious enough to have a go at this amazing craft. From a heap of beautiful soft fluffy stuff arises something wonderfully instant, substantial and useful not to mention wonderfully creative even if you think you haven't got an artistic bone in your body!!
